Brookfield, NY lies nestled in the rolling hills of the upper Unadilla valley within the heart of New York's
Central Leatherstocking region.
Located in the southeast corner of Madison County, at nearly 80 square miles the Town of Brookfield is
the largest town within the county. However, it also boasts one of the counties smallest populations at roughly
2600 residents. As such, the Town of Brookfield truly defines peaceful country living both in and around the
village hamlets of Brookfield, Leonardsville, and North Brookfield.
Home of the Madison County Fair since 1839,
the Town of Brookfield has much to offer outdoor enthusiasts, including a gorgeous
130 mile trail system meandering through 13,000 beautiful acres within the
Beaver Creek,
Brookfield Railroad, and
Charles E. Baker State Forests.
Whether by foot, horseback, mountain bike, snowmobile or cross-country ski, these breathtaking trails
offer the outdoor lover an ultimate getaway.
Given it's large size, several school districs cover the Town of Brookfield, including
Brookfield Central,
Hamilton Central,
Mount Markham Central,
Sherburne-Earlville,
Undadilla Valley Central, and
Waterville Central.
